1-Month Himba IMMERSION (Namibia)

Join this 1-month Africa IMMERSION team and live alongside the Himba people on the banks of the Kunene River in northern Namibia. As a team, you'll stay in a small settlement and experience both the joys and challenges in the rural community where people provide for their families through farming and raising livestock.

You'll have the opportunity to participate in outreach ministries for children through sports, involvement in schools, home visits and partnering with local missionaries. Be prepared to be uncomfortable as you enter a radically different world. Team members must be sensitive to the local people's way of life as they encounter many obstacles in sharing the gospel. Since many people do not speak English, team members will work closely with translators.

Team members should be prepared to camp—purifying water from the river, preparing basic meals, and using outdoor showers and toilets. Access to communication and the nearest town will be very limited, so team members should come ready to immerse fully in local life as they try to understand the unique Himba culture.
