Gap Year - South Africa / Caribbean - 2019-2020

If you’re looking for a broader understanding of ministry and culture, consider joining a Gap Year mission trip route that allows you to explore two radically different parts of the globe. You’ll begin with worldview training alongside the Director of EM Africa, setting a foundation for the next 9 months of traveling and missions in both South Africa and the Caribbean.

After experiencing life in two unique communities in South Africa during the Fall, you’ll travel home for the holidays and then jump straight into a 6-month IMMERSION routine in Haiti, Jamaica, and Belize in January with a new team. By the end of the trip, you’ll know a little bit of Afrikaans, Creole, Patois, and Spanish! Although schedules and ministry look different in each place, you’ll learn the art of slowing down and sharing your faith through everyday conversations and relationships. There is nothing more powerful than following the example of Jesus: walking, serving, and worshiping alongside others.

This Gap Year combines 2 distinct IMMERSION trips into one, year-long experience: 3-Month South Africa and 6-Month Caribbean.
